User Agreement – Scientists
To take full advantage of the Army of Women (AOW) website and to submit your research project to the AOW for recruitment, you must register. This registration is free of charge. By registering, you agree to abide by the following Terms of Membership:
- When you register, you must choose a unique user name or “login” and you must provide a unique, valid email address. Duplicate user names and email addresses are not allowed, so if the name or address you enter is already in use, you will be prompted to choose another one.
- To prevent any member from using another”s login, each member”s account is password protected. When you register, you will be asked to choose a password. You may edit your profile to change your password at any time. If you forget your password, you can request it be sent to you from the login page.
- This website, at its own discretion, may bar registration from any specific email service or ISP.
Project Acknowledgment/Disclosure
- By registering on the AOW website, you are providing the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation (DSLRF) and AOW with a copy of your protocol and supplemental documents to be reviewed by the Love/Avon Army of Women Scientific Advisory Committee and Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation for possible participation in the Love/Avon Army of Women.
- It is understood that the protocol and supplemental documents contain proprietary information that will be kept in confidence and not shared with anyone outside of the Love/Avon Army of Women Scientific Advisory Committee and Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.
Submission and Approval of Study Request
- The Scientist may submit one or more study requests to the AOW Scientific Advisory Committee. The study request shall include information including the purpose, scope and duration of the study, the study protocol, all study related materials and any additional materials requested by the AOW Scientific Advisory Committee. The AOW Scientific Advisory Committee will review requests from the Scientist and approve or deny in its sole discretion such requests. In the event that a study request is approved, DSLRF agrees to provide AOW program services and Scientist agrees to accept such services pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth below.
Rights and Obligations of the scientists once project is approved by the Army of Women Scientific Advisory Committee
- You shall coordinate all collaboration on the AOW program with DSLRF, who has primary control and responsibility over the planning, content, terms and implementation of the AOW program.
- You shall obtain any necessary IRB approvals and provide written evidence of approvals to AOW.
- You agrees not to share volunteer contact information or biologic samples with third parties or use the samples for purposes other than those outlined in the protocol for which the AOW volunteer consented and the AOW Scientific Advisory Committee approved.
- You agree not to contact the volunteer for any reason (e.g., solicitation of additional projects, fundraising) other than those explicitly related to the project for which the volunteer agreed to participate.
- To the extent requested and arranged by AOW, you agree to participate in at least one live webcast with volunteers in order to answer any questions and one webcast providing study update and/or results.
- You agree to acknowledge AOW support in all publications resulting from research supported by the AOW.
- You agree to share data with other AOW approved scientists and organizations.
Rights and obligations of the DSLRF and AOW for approved studies
- AOW shall recruit women for the SCIENTIST”S approved study, including:
- AOW shall post the study description on its website and
- AOW shall recruit volunteers for the study via e-mail.
- AOW may reference your project in the media and on printed materials relating to the AOW and provide recognition of the Scientist”s collaboration in public forums where such recognition is feasible.
Participating in the Army of Women Town Hall
Any message posted on our Town Hall expresses only the views of the author of the message and does not necessarily reflect the views of these Town Halls or any person or entity associated with them. These Town Halls use moderators and administrators to monitor the content and appearance of messages posted in our blogs and webcasting. However, considering the realtime nature of this blog and webcasting, it is impossible for us to monitor or review every message. Therefore, you agree that neither these blogs, nor any person or entity associated with them, will be held responsible for the contents, accuracy, completeness or validity of any information posted in them.
You agree that you will not use our Town Hall to post any material, or links to any material, which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person”s privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.
You agree that you will not post any copyrighted material without the express permission of the copyright holder, unless such copyright is owned by you. Advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also inappropriate on these forums.
AOW has the ability to edit and/or remove objectionable messages. Any user who believes that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email at webmaster@armyofwomen.org. Upon receipt of such notification, we will make every effort to take such action as we deem necessary within a reasonable period of time. Since this is a manual process, you are advised that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.
The Army of Women reserves the right to edit or delete any message for any reason whatsoever, at our sole discretion. You agree that you are solely responsible for the content of your messages, and that you will indemnify and hold harmless the Army of Women or the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, the software manufacturer, and their agents and employees with respect to any claim based upon the appearance and/or transmission of your message(s).
