Walk with Love on May 1 was a HUGE success! More than 700 supporters joined us on a beautiful morning in the Pacific Palisades to walk or run with their families and friends—and many four-legged friends, too. We are grateful to all of our sponsors, participants, teams, volunteers, and advocates around the country for helping to support our ninth annual Walk with Love.
Although our walk may be smaller in scale than many other breast cancer walks, the funds we raise have a real impact. Year after year, those resources back truly innovative research projects focused on finding the cause of breast cancer and stopping it before it starts! By being part of Walk with Love, you and thousands of past participants have brought us closer to a future without breast cancer.
Not only was our flagship walk in the Palisades a wonderful and inspiring morning, but this year we had participants walk virtually in 12 different states across the country. Thanks to all of our supporters, near and far, Walk with Love 2016 has raised over $177,000, which takes us nearly two-thirds of the way to our goal this year. You can still donate to Walk with Love through May 31 to help us reach our goal!
“It’s going to take everyone working together—walking, running, participating in research—and more collaboration and investment in research into the cause and prevention of breast cancer if we’re going to end this disease in our lifetime,” says Dr. Susan Love, chief visionary officer. “We’re grateful to each of you, and your supporters, for your dedication to our mission.”
Thank you, once again, for your commitment to a future without breast cancer. Congratulations to all runners and walkers for completing the 3.1-mile course. If you ran the 5K, you can view your race results here. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!
