James Root, Ph.D., Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center New York, NY
Study review

The purpose of this study was to evaluate a game-like set of tests developed to measure changes in mental function. This study is expected to help researchers design a test that doctors can use to identify cognitive impairments in people who have been treated for cancer.

The researchers wanted to enroll up to 140 women who had been diagnosed with breast cancer and those without cancer. The initial Call to Action for this study was sent to AOW members on September 8, 2019 and the researchers closed enrollment on September 24, 2019. The AOW provided them with 674 women who were interested in enrolling in the study.
